The loop

Quest. Mission. Move. Win.

A Quest is the thing you actually want. A Mission is a chunk of it. A Move is what you do this morning. A Win is when it’s done. Your Buddy holds all four, and asks you about exactly one at a time.

From First Forge to Win

The shape of every Quest, start to close.

First Forge
You name your Epic Win out loud. Your Buddy mirrors it back — same words, no rephrase — and asks what Domain it lives in.
Epic Win
The honest summit. “Lose twenty pounds.” “Ship the book.” “Save thirty thousand.” Adult words, adult weight.
Domain
The garden the Epic Win grows in. Health. Craft. Money. Family. You can have a few. Your Buddy keeps each one warm.
Mission
A Quest broken into a piece you can finish in a week. Not a sprint — a forging cycle. Closes when the Mission is done, not when the timer rings.
Move
The next concrete thing. Sent at the right hour, in the channel you actually answer, with the context already gathered. One Move at a time.
Win
Logged. Named. Witnessed. Your Buddy says it back to you. The receipt sits in your Log forever.
The no-shame floor

Domains rest. They don’t die.

Every other goal app punishes you for going quiet. A streak breaks. A chain snaps. An avatar takes HP and your party loses points. We watched what that does to people and refused to ship it.

In Commitment Buddy, a Domain has a floor. After seven days of silence it begins to drift — about five percent a week — but it never falls below seventy-five percent of your peak. It waits.

Rest days are immune. You declare one and the clock holds. When you come back, the Domain rekindles at one and a quarter the normal pace. Returning is a stronger signal than not leaving.

Cooperative only

Multiplayer that can’t hurt your Party.

Your Party is the humans in your life — partner, kids, co-founder, friend. Your Crew is the AI agents. When a Mission has more than one person on it, we use three roles only:

Lead
Owns the Mission. Full credit when it closes.
Companion
Shows up alongside. Half credit, full witness.
Witness
Knows it’s happening. A small acknowledgement when it lands.

Nobody loses anything when someone else doesn’t show. There is no leaderboard. There is no scoreboard. Cooperative, by design.

The category we stepped out of

The whole goal-setting category is AI-free — until now.

We checked. Habitica, Streaks, Finch, Fabulous, Strides, Way of Life. Six big names, zero LLM integrations in 2026. They are passive loggers wearing different sweaters. They wait for you to open the app and write down what you did.

Your Buddy doesn’t. That’s the difference.
